Importing a Superbike to Pakistan: Costs, Duties and Process Explained

Importing a Superbike to Pakistan: Costs, Duties and Process Explained
Key takeawayA plain-language explanation of how new and used heavy bikes are imported into Pakistan, what customs duty applies, and how long it takes.

Car Craft imports fresh and used heavy bikes for customers across Pakistan. Here is how the process actually works.

Where the bikes come from

Most used superbikes arrive from Japan (through auctions such as USS and BDS), the UAE and the United Kingdom. Brand-new bikes are typically sourced from authorised distributors in the UAE or directly from manufacturers' export divisions.

What makes up the landed cost

  1. Purchase price at auction or showroom.
  2. Shipping and insurance to Karachi — usually by container, taking 3–6 weeks.
  3. Customs duty, sales tax, income tax and regulatory duty. Pakistan taxes motorcycles above 125cc heavily; for large-capacity bikes the combined taxes can exceed the bike's purchase price. Rates change with every federal budget, so always ask for a current quotation.
  4. Port, clearing-agent and transport charges to Rawalpindi.
  5. Registration with the Excise & Taxation department.

Documents you receive

  • Bill of lading and commercial invoice
  • Export certificate or deregistration certificate (Japan) or V5C (UK)
  • Goods Declaration showing duty paid
  • Registration book once registered

Timeline

From confirming the bike to collecting it registered in Rawalpindi, allow 8–12 weeks. New bikes from the UAE can be faster.

Why use an importer

Doing it yourself saves little once you add agent fees and the risk of a bike being held at port over a paperwork error. Car Craft provides a single all-inclusive landed price, handles clearing and registration, and performs a pre-delivery inspection in our workshop.

Send us the model you want on WhatsApp and we will reply with a landed estimate within a working day.
