Best Riding Gear for Pakistani Weather: Helmets, Jackets and Gloves That Actually Work
Key takeawayRiding gear built for Europe does not always suit Rawalpindi in June. Here is what works in Pakistani heat, monsoon rain and mountain cold.

Protective gear only protects you if you actually wear it, and in a Pakistani summer that means choosing ventilation as carefully as armour.

Helmets: certification first, then airflow

Look for ECE 22.06 certification — it is the current European standard and stricter than the old 22.05. For hot weather, a helmet with large chin and crown vents and a removable, washable liner is essential. The AGV K6 S and Shoei range we stock are both excellent in heat. Avoid cheap helmets with fake certification stickers; they are common in local markets.

Jackets: mesh for summer, leather for speed

  • Mesh textile jackets with CE Level 2 shoulder and elbow armour are the daily-commute answer from April to October.
  • Perforated leather gives far better abrasion resistance at superbike speeds and still breathes on the motorway.
  • Add a back protector — most jackets ship with only a foam pad.

Gloves: never ride without them

Hands hit the ground first in almost every fall. Short-cuff vented gloves work for the city; full-gauntlet race gloves such as the Alpinestars GP Pro are the choice for spirited riding. Touchscreen fingertips are a bonus for navigation.

Boots and pants

Ankle injuries are the most common motorcycle injury in our region. CE-rated riding boots with ankle bracing are worth every rupee. For pants, Kevlar-lined riding jeans look normal off the bike and come with knee armour.

Winter and northern trips

For Murree, Naran or the Karakoram Highway, layer a thermal base under a textile jacket with a waterproof membrane, and carry winter gloves. Heated grips are a cheap upgrade our workshop can fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which helmet certification should I look for in Pakistan?
ECE 22.06 is the current benchmark. DOT and older ECE 22.05 helmets are acceptable, but avoid helmets with no verifiable certification label.
Is a mesh jacket safe enough for a superbike?
A quality mesh jacket with CE Level 2 armour is fine for city riding. For highway speeds, perforated leather offers much better abrasion protection.
